Educational Complex for ST Girls
HOLY HOME has established an Educational Complex for Schedule Tribe and Scheduled Caste girls for residential learning to strengthen girl’s education in low literacy pockets in the year 2010-11 and got funded from Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India to address the problems of gender discrimination and to bridge the gap between dropout and enrolment in the inaccessible areas to bring them to the mainstream.
Under this programme tribal girls are enrolled after proper family counselling for their continuing education. In the complex girls are taking their education in Gurukul environment in residential mode. Teaching is being imparted through education process as per the course curriculum of BSE, Odisha, in addition to extra-curricular activities. A school management committee and a parent-teacher association are actively associated to monitor the overall growth of their children. Facilities like hostel, fooding, clothing, toiletries, books and teaching learning materials are provided free of cost according to Govt. of India norms. The approval for funding by Government is presently for 221 ST girl students, but there are more than 300 are enrolled.
For their joyful learning all necessary sports and learning materials has been provided to them. Besides education, sports, yoga practices, vocational training is also has been taken care.
Non-Residential/Residential School for SCs
A Non-Residential School for SCs was established under HOLY HOME at Salang village of District Puri which was funded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India in the year 2000-2001. After lifting of the EBB status in the 2015-16 the students were transferred to the Educational Complex managed by HOLY HOME, the same parent body running at Sinapali of Komna block, which is coming under EBB. After our formal request to the Govt. of India for shifting of the school from Salang to Sinapali; it has been approved by the Competent Authority vide Letter No.11020/353/2010-SCD-III, dated 06 Sept., 2016.
The Non-Residential School at Sinapali village of Komna block of Nuapada district is running for scheduled cast girl students since 2016-17. The strength of the school is 100 students determined by the Ministry of Social Justice, Govt. of India under Non-Residential School for SCs. The Ministry is providing facilities as per the Non-Residential School norms.
But, considering the SC community pressure and their poverty the management of HOLY HOME has providing the students the residential facility and for their lodging & boarding including other necessary requirements.
